Metallic & Holographic Labels
Metallized and holographic materials can create reflective areas through the face stock itself. Artwork, white ink coverage, lighting, protection, and the final container all influence the visible result.
Plan which areas should reflect
Share the artwork and intended package so opaque, translucent, and reflective areas can be discussed. Material availability and the suitable production route are confirmed during quotation.
Metallic and holographic face stocks create reflective effects across the label. Selective ink coverage and opaque white layers can reveal or mask the underlying material.
Materials & adhesive
Silver PET, metallized films, foil-faced paper and holographic films have different reflective and handling characteristics. Review physical samples for the required appearance.
Printing & finishing
Selective white ink, CMYK printing, foil stamping and matte or gloss protection can be assessed. A metallic substrate and a stamped foil detail are separate construction choices.
What to include in your brief
Supply the reference effect, finished size, quantity, artwork, metallic reveal areas and white-ink mask. Confirm the container, adhesive and desired surface finish.
Common questions
Is metallic film the same as foil stamping?
No. Metallic film is the underlying printable material. Foil stamping applies a decorative foil to selected artwork areas using a separate process.
Will a screen preview match a holographic label?
A screen cannot reproduce the full angle-dependent reflection. Confirm the material and representative print effect with a physical sample.
