Roll Labels

Roll labels need a production conversation that includes how the label will be applied, not only what it will look like. Confirm the application method, unwind direction, core, and packing needs early.

Plan for the application step

Whether labels are applied by hand or with equipment, supply the conditions and constraints available to your team. A reference roll or machine note is helpful when one exists.

Specification guide

Specify custom roll labels for your application

Roll labels are pressure-sensitive labels supplied on a continuous release liner around a core. They support hand application and compatible automatic labeling equipment for bottles, jars, cartons and other packaging.

Materials & adhesive
Coated paper, clear or white BOPP, PET and metallic films can be considered. Match the adhesive to glass, plastic, metal or coated cartons, then assess moisture and handling requirements.
Printing & finishing
Choose CMYK or CMYK plus white for digital production. Conventional printing and spot colors are assessed for suitable production orders. Matte or gloss protection, foil, spot UV and shaped die cutting are available for review.
What to include in your brief
Provide finished width and height, quantity per SKU, material, print colors, gap, core inside diameter, maximum roll outside diameter and labels per roll. State head, tail, left or right leading edge and inside or outside winding.

Common questions

Why does dispense direction matter?

The leading edge and winding orientation must match the labeling machine and container presentation. Confirm the direction using the machine specification or an existing reference roll before production.

Is there one MOQ for every roll label?

No. The minimum quantity depends on material availability, print route, tooling, finishing and the number of designs. Submit the full specification for a job-specific quotation.
